Allison and Dan‘s Wisconsin Union Memorial Terrace Wedding

Allison and Dan got engaged in DC on July 31 on the rooftop deck of Allison’s old apartment building, where they spent many evenings sharing meals and getting to know each other in their early days of dating.

It was also the site of an infamous party thrown by Allison in the summer of 2016 that Dan crashed, which was when Allison first realized that this guy might not be so bad (even if he showed up to her parties uninvited).

Proposal Story

With the help of some amazing friends, Dan organized a surprise proposal on the roof, flanked by an unhealthy amount of Allison’s favorite Italian food and a beautiful view of the U.S. Capitol.

Overall Design and Vision

A + D wanted a simple, minimalist look that was clean, but also allowed the architecture of the Church and Great Hall at the Memorial Union to shine. Their Wisconsin Union Terrace wedding was classy, elegant and had no shortage of fun.

The Memorial Union Terrace is an ICONIC and must-see destination if you are ever in Madison. It was only fitting that they took time to share a beer on the Terrace in between their ceremony and reception. P.S. Deanna also used to work there 🙂

They both share a profound belief that neither of them would be where they are today without the loving friends and family who have sacrificed and supported them along the way.

The importance of family was evident the entire day, woven intimately into their wedding day. Allison’s engagement ring was made using gold and diamonds from a family ring worn for many years by her grandmother, Betty, and while getting ready, Allison took a moment to read a letter written to her by her late mother to open on her wedding day.

It was a sentimental, fun, celebratory day that ended with a live band, and Bucky of course!
