The Engagement

Kathleen and Tim’s engagement story was sweet and thoughtful, with Tim proposing during a date night at Olbrich Botanical Garden. Tim had worked hard to plan the perfect proposal, complete with a photographer to capture the moment. Kathleen was surprised and overjoyed when Tim asked her to marry him, and she said yes without hesitation.

Wedding Day

Their tropical-inspired wedding at the Tinsmith started off with Kathleen getting ready with her bridesmaids while Tim and his groomsmen spent time together at a nearby restaurant. Kathleen looked stunning in her modern lace dress while Tim looked handsome in his navy suit. The couple decided to do a first look before the ceremony, which was held in the solarium of The Tinsmith in Madison, WI.

When designing, we really used The Tinsmith as our primary inspiration! The tropical theme is actually something we don’t see much of in the Midwest as a primary design choice, but it worked SO perfectly with the greenery and plants in the solarium! Lily Forest Designs (florist) absolutely knocked it out of the park. GORGEOUS!

The ceremony included a ring warming ceremony where every guest had a chance to pass around their rings and warm them before the exchange. Such a cool idea!

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with delicious cheese boards and street tacos. The reception was filled with laughter, dancing, and great music. Kathleen and Tim’s love for big, bold flavors was reflected in the delicious food that was served, which included a family-style dinner with some of the best wedding food (priority #1).

Our Role

As their wedding planners, we worked closely with Kathleen and Tim to help them envision a design and gave them creative direction, and of course, made sure things were seamless from beginning to end.

Kathleen and Tim’s wedding was a beautiful representation of their love for each other and their desire to celebrate with their closest family and friends. So beautifully captured by Mo Speer Photography, we think you’ll ooh and aah over this unique wedding! Congratulations to the happy couple!
