The Story

Lexi and Dylan, where do we even start? You know by now how a wedding day filled with personal touches makes our hearts soar, and this day was simply overflowing. From their colorful retro couches to a pool-themed seating chart (only fitting since they met during a competitive game of pool), this bold and disco-inspired wedding was a true reflection of Lexi and Dylan’s fun-loving personalities.

The Aesthetic

The Tinsmith served as the perfect backdrop for the day. The star of the show, however, was the vibrant color palette of orange, pink, and blue!  A cascading arch surrounded Lexi and Dylan as they said “I do”. They even had an eclectic selection of colorful couches from Velvet Rentals. Not only were they the focal point in the wedding party portrait photos, but they also provided cozy family seating during the ceremony!

How it Started

Lexi and Dylan’s love story began over a game of pool at a local bar, and this theme was cleverly incorporated into the wedding. A pool-themed seating chart and table numbers with billiard balls added a playful and sentimental touch.

And because we know you’re DYING to know the details, hear from Lexi herself on how she and Dylan fell in love:

“We have a shared family friend (no idea how we hadn’t met until 3 years ago) and were at the same fish fry hosted by said family friend. We ended up by chance playing pool against each other in a doubles game, and my strategy was flirting with the more talented player (Dylan) therefore my team ended up winning 😏. After, we casually chatted for about ten minutes and my ride was leaving. The whole night I asked my mutual friends his name and tried desperately to find him on Facebook just to let him know “hey I am INTERESTED”, with no luck at all. The next day he added me (I was like how the heck did I not find him) but I eagerly accepted and messaged him bc I have no chill. We talked a bit went on our first date a week after we met and have been inseparable since ❤️ And fun fact, I found out two months in that Dylan did not have a Facebook when I was looking for him and he reactivated his old account just so he could find me 🥰 awwww. Modern love LOL”

The Wedding Day

One of the highlights of the evening was a surprise from Lexi’s sister – she surprised them with a live painter to capture their first dance!

Or maybe the highlight was that they served Chipotle for dinner! A casual yet delicious twist to catering, but no better reflection of their laid-back and fun-loving personalities!

Speaking of food, Miggy’s Bakes contributed to the sweetness of the occasion with a vintage “just married” cake. A perfect tie to the retro theme that added a touch of nostalgia to the dessert table.

The celebration continued well into the night once Lexi and Dylan changed into coordinating hoodies + sweats and claimed the mics for some good old-fashioned karaoke. What better way to close out your wedding than belting out your favorite song with your new spouse?

And of course, there’s a story there too!

The Proposal

” I should have known something was up because Dylan insisted that we have a karaoke party for my birthday. I honestly didn’t think anything of it though because I love my birthday and it is always done big no matter the number.

I was in Nashville for my birthday Wednesday-Saturday with my girl friends and got home Saturday, got ready, and went to my parents house where we were having the party. Dylan sang his go-to karaoke song, Sold by John Michael Montgomery, where he always without fail sings it to me (usually, walking through the crowd with a wireless mic at whatever bar we’re at). So, when he sang it to me I didn’t think a single thing of it.

No one in my family would dance with me because they knew what was happening, and wanted it to be just me and him, and I was like ‘guys he does this all the time, you can dance with me’ but I relented and let him serenade me.

Then after he came up to me and proposed in front of all of my family and closest friends. There were fireworks, a photographer, everything I ever hoped for 💖.”

The Proposal

Lexi and Dylan’s colorful, retro wedding was a true testament to their love story and individual personalities, it simply makes us smile to see these photos!

From the vibrant decor to the personalized touches and unexpected surprises, every element came together to create a celebration that was as unique and unforgettable as the couple themselves. It really was the best day ever! Cheers to a lifetime of love and happiness Lexi and Dylan! We are SO glad we got to be your planners!
