Amanda + Eddie
Amanda and Eddie grew up together and were always in the same friend group, but didn’t start dating until they were young adults. We are so glad the timing worked out, because they make such a fun, supportive, and calm couple. It was such a breath of fresh air to work with them! Both of them are old souls – so easy to love and yes, we became instant friends. (I find Amanda to be hilarious!)
Amanda got a taste of wedding planning before they postponed their wedding due to the pandemic. Originally, they were going to do a much bigger, much different direction for their wedding day but once the pandemic hit and they realized that wasn’t really what they wanted, Amanda reached out because she thought having a wedding planner would help alleviate a lot of stress.
Because she had started the planning process, they already had bridesmaids dresses picked out (those gorgeous emerald green dresses you’ll see soon) to match her stunning emerald ring, but otherwise, we started back at ground zero to give them a wedding day that felt more like them.
When I first asked Amanda what she wanted in her wedding day, she said:
I want our wedding to be cozy and intimate. Our biggest priority is getting married so having a lavish party is NOT what we are looking for. I like the overall vibe to be simple and classic, highlighting some beautiful flowers and offering tasty food. Our wedding party is small: 2 bridesmaids, 2 groomsmen. Although I’d like the feel to be casual (small-scale, relaxed, playing music from a playlist, etc.) I’d like the aesthetic to be more elegant.
Dreamy, right? So we got to work on designing their day! Their love for classic black and white and earth tones plus a love for vintage translated into a mid-century modern aesthetic that turned out so beautifully! And Amanda’s sister also happened to have the most GORGEOUS home we used as our getting ready space. It couldn’t have been a better fit! We cannot wait for you to see the stunning photos by Hart and Fig Photo and the ethereal floral from Briar Loft either, because they truly NAILED IT!
The Proposal
Ed had plans to propose to Amanda at the park in Stoughton during the holiday light show, but when they arrived the lights were off! She had no idea his plan was foiled and was completely surprised when he proposed to her on a beautiful walk by the lake with their dog the next morning. It was perfect!
A Private Ceremony Surprise
Surprise! A few months before their big day, E + A decided to just GO FOR IT and get married! With plans to move forward with their reception without the pressure of a ceremony, they held a private ceremony at Allen Centennial Gardens in Madison in July with just 3 witnesses and then gathered with their closest 40 family and friends at the Old Sugar Distillery in September.
