From chemistry class to the chemistry between them, Kim and Tim’s love story is as unique as it gets! We are so obsessed with Kim and Tim and can’t wait to tell you more about them and their cozy, genuine, and carefree day at the Old Sugar Distillery!

For Kim and Tim, their story began nine years ago at Indiana University, where they crossed paths in the chemistry fraternity. Kim, the Vice President (dubbed the Vice Master Alchemist, how cool is that title?!), and Tim, a new recruit, found themselves drawn to each other’s personalities.

Their shared love for all things food and exploration led them to countless adventures, whether it was trying new recipes at home, hosting themed food parties with friends, or discovering hidden gems in their beloved city of Madison.

Kim and Tim’s bond extends beyond the kitchen and the great outdoors. They share a passion for music, attending concerts, and immersing themselves in the vibrant culture of Madison. Their love for community and connection shines through in their fondness for hosting gatherings and game nights, where laughter and joy abound.

The Proposal

And so, the stage was set for a magical proposal amidst the stunning foliage of Flambeau River State Forest. Tim, with ring in hand, popped the question mid-hike, capturing the essence of their relationship—uncomplicated, genuine, and filled with love. Their rings, custom-designed by Ali Kauss Adornments, symbolized their commitment to open communication, mutual respect, and a shared journey of growth.

The Wedding

From the get-go, Kim and Tim envisioned a celebration that mirrored their laid-back yet heartfelt approach to life. They wanted their dream wedding to be an intimate affair, blending cozy elegance with industrial charm, set against the backdrop of fall’s warm hues.

Surrounded by their nearest and dearest, they exchanged vows in a heartfelt ceremony in their very own living room (unfortunately it was a bit too cold to do it outside on their yard) with the best view of the Madison capitol and Lake.

They then transitioned to the reception at the Old Sugar Distillery, where the reception tables were lined with houseplants that Kim grew, and

Kim grew the house plants for the reception tables, and the couple wrote personal letters to guests and placed them at their seats, our favorite detail of all!

Banzo catered the meal (if you’ve never had Banzo, it is outstanding Mediterranean food – I dream about the falafel!) and loved ones gave speeches. The reception was an absolute blast with dancing, and Kim and Tim took some time in the evening to enjoy ice cream and dancing in the streets.

Mo Speer Photography did such an amazing job capturing their day and their personalities! Genuine, cozy, and endlessly kind, we truly don’t think it’s possible not to be OBSESSED with K+T. They are the real deal!! Cheers to Kim and Tim, whose love story is truly one for the books!
