We’re super excited to share with you a little glimpse into Jo and Andrew’s wedding journey. They’re one of those couples that remind you why we love doing what we do. They came to us with a vision of an intimate, stress-free wedding and WOW, did we have fun bringing it to life at the Iron Amethyst Inn!
How They Met
You know we love love around here and Jo and Andrew’s story is no exception. They met in college on playing rugby, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Engagement Story
They celebrated their engagement with an early morning walk at the Madison Arboretum in November 2021. The ring is a beautiful blend of family heritage – a center stone from Andrew’s grandmother and side stones from Jo’s great aunt.
Wedding Vision
When it came to their big day, Jo and Andrew were clear about what they wanted – a small, elegant ceremony without all the usual fuss. No bridal party, just their closest people and laid-back, al fresco garden vibes!
The Big Day
The Iron Amethyst Inn was the perfect spot for their celebration. It’s got this unique charm that matched their style to a T. The outdoor spaces like the Garden and Porch were ideal for their intimate guest list of 50.
Since they’re both avid gardeners, we made sure flowers and plants were a big part of the decor. The color scheme was also a fun, pastel and vibrant palette with gingham patterns for napkins.
And get this – we did a seating chart with book pages to give a nod to Andrew’s love for literature. Such a cool and unique touch!
For Jo and Andrew, great food and capturing the day were non-negotiables. They wanted top-notch eats and a photographer who could capture their special moments in time. Mo Speer captured their day so perfectly – it is so evident how much JOY was present on their wedding day!
Jo and Andrew’s day is one of our favorites from the season! From their unique engagement to a wedding day filled with personal touches, it was a joy to help bring their vision to life. It’s weddings like these that make us love what we do even more. Can’t wait to see where life takes these two next!
