Fun fact: This is the first styled shoot I’d ever done! Back in August, Lisa with Sunborn Gardens and I had more time on our hands, and were getting antsy to create something with the majority of our weddings on hold. As I share this with you today, we’ve had some unseemingly warm and pleasant weather, especially for November. This photoshoot brings back great memories, especially as we begrudgingly transition from autumn to winter.  I am so proud of the work our small but mighty team did to create this beautiful day!

Inspiration and Concept

Lisa, the florist, came up with the design and concept and I ran with it. We worked together to create something a little offbeat and colorful. The colors were the main source of inspiration for this photoshoot (the pop of mustard yellow with the mauve and teal – come on!), and perfectly complemented the bright and bold colors of the flowers grown at their flower farm.

Bridal Beauty

For the bridal inspiration, I convinced my beautiful friend Daphne to be our model. Daphne is so effortlessly beautiful! We wanted her to look and feel natural, feminine and care-free. She is stunning in her dress with her loose, and natural waves. We chose the mauve, one-shoulder dress that highlighted her full-sleeve tattoos. We also gave the design board to our photographer, Shivani, who made the gorgeous, custom danglers (earrings) for us!

The Details

We love keeping things simple, so challenged ourselves to use items that we already owned as much as possible. Lisa knew the perfect place for the sweetheart table I was envisioning. When we arrived, she led us to a small, wooded area hidden between the trees located just a few feet away from their greenhouse. On the table, we layered teal plates with oatmeal-colored napkins and a watercolor place card. The vintage table, lace table runner, ombre goblets and the clear taper candles finished the look. Doesn’t a private getaway in the middle of the woods with you and your love sound so dreamy?

The End Result

The end result is moody, ethereal, earthy and a little edgy. I wanted to give a special shoutout to the amazing team of vendors who made this day possible. I loved frolicking through the flower fields and forest with you, and eagerly long to create more magic like this in the near future.
