Caitlyn and Larry are the real deal and literally exude joy. They met when they were paired up as partners in dance class their freshman year of high school. Although they were a part of different friend groups throughout all of high school, they didn’t really talk until their mutual friend (and now bridesmaid) set them up during their senior year.

They started dating shortly before graduation and did long distance throughout all of college. After graduating college, Caitlyn made the move to Madison.

The Proposal

“Larry and I always knew we’d get married but I told Larry to at least wait until after college to pop the big question! He waited…. and waited.. and after years of bugging him, he finally asked me to marry him on December 26, 2020. We were celebrating Christmas with his family and he had me open a personal gift, I had no clue what was coming. Turns out the gift was a wedding planning notebook, I burst into tears right away and he got down on one knee – there wasn’t a dry eye in the room! According to our hometown jeweler, Larry has had the ring for YEARS!”

Their Wedding Vision

For Caitlyn and Larry, their perfect wedding could be summed up in three words: Intimate, FUN, and Meaningful. They envisioned a day where they could savor every moment with their loved ones! While of course, they wanted the day to be beautiful and thought out, they really valued having an environment that would make them and their guests feel comfortable. Part of the reason they chose The Lageret as their venue was for its character, warm tones and cozy feel they wanted.

“Warmth” was the biggest word that came to mind when Caitlyn was envisioning what she wanted for the wedding day – whether in reference to our color palette or the feeling guests had when they were attending!

The couple’s event priorities were clear: comfortable and happy guests, a delicious cake, and a stress-free bride and groom. But what truly made their day special were the meaningful touches that reflected their love story.

The Story of Bessie

One particularly heartwarming detail was the inclusion of “Bessie,” a vintage truck that held a special place in Caitlyn’s heart. Bessie had been in her family since her grandfather’s time and had played a significant role in her childhood. Caitlyn’s dream was to have a vintage getaway car at her wedding, and Larry made that dream come true. In a surprise that left Caitlyn in tears, Bessie was there to transport the newlyweds into their happily ever after.

Cheers to the Happy Couple

Caitlyn and Larry’s wedding was a reminder that love, family, and cherished memories are at the heart of every beautiful celebration. Their day was a testament to the power of love and the importance of creating moments that will be cherished for a lifetime.
