Sabrina and Brandon’s Story

It all started when Brandon went to watch his cousin Jessa and some friends play in a club volleyball tournament. He noticed a girl on the team (#6) and was told by Jessa she was a hard catch. But despite that only fueled Brandon all the more, and he was determined and knew in his heart that she was the one. Even so that he said to his cousin “I am going to marry her, you just watch”.

Brandon met Sabrina after the game and at that moment he set his mind on solving “Mission Impossible.” With some subtle flirting attempts and a whole lot of confidence, Brandon employed Jessa to come through and help him devise a secret plan to have Sabrina ask him out as a date to her a capella formal.

With another opportunity to meet in person and even a shared dance, Brandon still didn’t get her number, so relied yet again on Jessa to save the day (subtly) by texting in a group chat so that he could have Sabrina’s number without having to directly ask for it.

That summer, he found a job in Madison, knowing it was his only chance to keep this spark alive before she left for four months to Spain. After a Madison summer full of coffee dates, long conversations about goals and aspirations, and a Packers preseason game, Sabrina left him to go to Spain. Turns out his flirtatiousness was strong enough to be felt internationally as they messaged constantly and FaceTimed every Thursday for those four months.

When she finally came back home for Christmas, Brandon asked her on a date to see where things stood. She initiated and gave him a kiss and they picked up exactly where they left off. While Brandon knew much sooner than Sabrina, his gut was strong and true, and he did, indeed marry the girl after all!

The Wedding Vision

Our 2024 season was a year of gorgeous designs, and we’ve got to say we absolutely loved how many couples trusted us to design their days. In fact, it helped our team realize we need to focus our energy and skills more toward complex events, and that this is where we really shine!

Sabrina and Brandon chose Garver Feed Mill, a stunning industrial venue with gorgeous industrial detailing, wide open spaces and beautiful charm for their 300 person count wedding.

When we originally met with Sabrina and Brandon, they told us their design inspiration was warm and neutral, with a desire to combine an elegant vintage style with rust and dusty blue colors. They not only wanted it to look good, but of course, feel good too! With a guest count of 300 people, it’s quite evident that they are truly loved by many!

They wanted to have their wedding day be a place where they could gather their favorite people together to celebrate their joy, love and commitment to each other and to God. For the ceremony, they did a Catholic ceremony at St. John’s Catholic Church downtown Madison near the University of Wisconsin-Madison. With gorgeous detailing, not much decor was needed to make the space beautiful, but we added small touches with stationery and flowers to make it more personalized to them.

Guests then headed over to Garver Feed Mill after the Catholic ceremony and were welcomed with great food and drinks where we put the finishing touches behind-the-scenes to make sure it looked amazing too!

Sabrina wanted to lean more minimalist while incorporating her love for pearls and white poppies and anemones. We were able to execute this in a way that far exceeded our expectations, and to be honest that has a lot to do with Sunborn Gardens and her absolute genius and artistry, the fun mismatched vintage plates and dinnerware, and the STUNNING stationery from her very own cousin who happens to be a stationery and signage designer, Adeline Marg.

A Night to Remember

The evening unfolded with a focus on what mattered most: connection. Guests enjoyed a welcoming atmosphere that felt like home, despite the higher guest count, and was a true reflection of how Sabrina and Brandon approach life—finding joy in the simple, everyday moments while celebrating the extraordinary ones with the people closest to them.

Sabrina and Brandon’s wedding was a reminder of what makes weddings so special: not just the details, but the love and the stories behind them! Congrats Sabrina and Brandon! Cheers to a lifetime of happiness and bliss!
