Katie and Jace
Katie and Jace’s wedding was a true reflection of their story—rooted in authenticity, nature, and the places that hold meaning for them. From an emotional first look with Katie’s daughter, Adriana, to a celebration filled with vibrant, wildflower-inspired arrangements, their wedding at The Tinsmith was an eclectic and joyful expression of their love.
A Love Story Rooted in Nature
Katie and Jace’s journey began at a grass volleyball tournament in Beloit, WI in September 2020, where a mutual friend introduced them. Sparks flew immediately!
Fast forward to a Sunday afternoon at Yahara Park—one of Katie’s favorite places—where Jace proposed in the most natural and heartfelt way.
As they looked out at the lake, he pointed out a duck, playfully telling Katie to turn around. When she did, he was down on one knee, asking her to marry him. It was the perfect moment in a place that already held so much meaning.
Personal Touches & Meaningful Moments
Katie and Jace’s wedding embraced elements like disco balls, fun and personality-packed stationery/signage, a boat cruise after the ceremony, food trucks and an ice cream cart featuring Purple Door Ice Cream.
Their seating chart, featuring postcards from various national parks, was a tribute to their love of adventure. These postcards were then incorporated in their table numbers.
One of the most touching moments of the day was Katie’s first look—not just with Jace, but with her daughter, Adriana. Before Jace saw Katie in her dress, Adriana shared a private first look with her mom, a moment filled with love and emotion.
Incorporating Their Love for the Outdoors
As outdoor enthusiasts, Katie and Jace wanted their wedding to reflect their love for the mountains, water, and nature. Their vision came to life through a ceremony at Yahara Park, a celebratory boat cruise with friends following, and a reception at The Tinsmith filled with greenery and natural textures.
Aesthetically, the black and white dance floor made a bold statement, while the tablescape and seating and signage displays added a lot of funk. Each element complemented the floral design and overall atmosphere, making the space feel modern yet deeply personal.
And let’s not forget about Luna, their Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, who made an adorable guest appearance!

Wildflower-Inspired Florals
Katie’s bouquet was a showstopper, overflowing with wildflower-inspired blooms in a soft pastel sky palette. Designed by Daffodil Parker, the florals mirrored the organic beauty of the mountains, featuring big blooms and intentional whimsical foliage.
The ceremony platform at Yahara Park was adorned with florals that evoked the feeling of walking through a field of wildflowers. For the reception, bud vases and delicate arrangements brought that same untamed beauty indoors, complementing the modern elegance of The Tinsmith.

A Day to Remember
Katie and Jace’s wedding was a celebration of what truly matters—love, family, and their loved ones. They stayed true to their vision, bringing it to life in a way that felt effortless yet deeply personal.
One of the moments that will stay with us the most? The way Jace looked at Katie, the way Adriana looked at both of them, and the love that filled every corner of their day. Their wedding was a perfect reminder that the most beautiful celebrations are the ones that reflect who you are at your core.
It was an honor to be part of such a special day, and we couldn’t be happier for this sweet family as they step into their next adventure together.
