Kelsey and Amos
Kelsey and Amos’ love story had its beginnings in chemistry (literally) where they shared a Chemistry class and were rowing crew members on the bustling campus of UW-Madison. Sparks flew, and what started as a budding friendship soon blossomed into a beautiful romance. Seven years later, after a year spent exploring the US in their converted van, they embarked on their greatest adventure yet—marriage.
Nestled in south-central Wisconsin lies Snug Haven Farm, a quaint family-owned farm that holds a special place in their hearts (they are partial owners and have a house across from the property!)
This isn’t just a picturesque location for them; it’s a place where they’ve poured their blood, sweat, and tears, transforming it into a haven of their own.
Amos, with his calm demeanor and visionary outlook, perfectly complements Kelsey’s driven personality and masterful logistical skills.
The Proposal
“Amos proposed on the first Saturday of December in 2020. We always celebrate our anniversary on this day because we have no idea when we actually started dating. We usually do something simple like bake a pie together.
2020 was a little different. Days before this we found out I’d be diagnosed with thyroid cancer. My prognosis was great, but it really shook me and my family.
My family was with us in the mountains for a delayed Thanksgiving, and I had spent the morning cooking. Amos and I went out to walk our dog, and he walked us to a little cove that we usually paddle board in the summer. The cove was completely iced over and he got down on one knee. We got to come home and share some great news with my family in the midst of some scary news. It was a huge gift!
He stayed by my side, and I remain cancer free today. We’re thankful!”
Their Vision
When it came to their wedding, they envisioned a celebration that mirrored their personalities—joyous, fun, and genuine. They wanted an event filled with laughter, dancing, and most importantly—a day for them to have the the best time of their lives with their community.
The farm exuded rustic charm, a perfect match for their “mismatched” wedding theme. Vibrant colors painted the day, and nothing was too perfectly put together – just the way they wanted it. Laughter filled the air, and joy radiated from every corner. They even invited guests to stay in tents for the weekend!
Farm-to-Table
One of the standout elements of their wedding was the dinner – a mouthwatering pig roast courtesy of Twisted Radish Catering, with veggies grown by Amos and also, the pig they roasted was raised right there on Snug Haven Farm. Talk about a true farm-to-table experience! Dessert was an assortment of pies from their loved ones!
A Happily Ever After
